Persians are a beautiful sheep that are rare in Australia. The Australian Persian Sheep Association aims to provide information regarding Persians that will be of value to anyone interested in this breed from the commercial farmer to hobbyist. This site aims to discuss topical issues regarding Persian sheep in Australia. The site discusses not only essential issues such as their general care and maintenance, but also, in more detail, the genetics of colour inheritance in Persian sheep, the registration of purebred stud stock in Australia, how Persians compare to the few other African breeds in Australia, the place of Persians in Australia as well as the world generally in the 21st century. Their roles as diverse as terminal sires to produce heat and drought tolerance for primary producers through to their availability as small, low maintenance, placid, pretty delightful pets will also be discussed.
